Hello lovelies! My birthday was earlier this month. If you are anything like me, your birthday is one of your favorite days. I love it so much because I get to spend time with family and friends and overall just have a fun, carefree day.
And what’s one of the best parts of a birthday? Dressing in a way that will make you feel like the belle of the ball (although, if you want to wear pajamas and sweats, by all means, do your thing birthday queen). Every year I plan a birthday outfit well in advance. This year, however, I fell behind. Between getting married and suddenly experiencing unemployment, I didn’t have a ton of resources for a hot new outfit.
So, I did what everyone knows to do, I shopped in my closet. Fortunately, I have several outfits that I love and don’t care if I’m labeled as an “outfit repeater” in them.
This year I turned 24 and spent most of the day with my family. That being said, I wasn’t going to wear a super-revealing outfit as though I was going out with friends. I wanted to look great but classy.
I opted for this rose-pink romper. I fell in love with this romper the moment I saw it. It features delicate black lace trim with a keyhole back. I originally purchased it from Sears, but it is no longer carried. An almost spot on substitute can be found at Nordstorm. If you aren’t a fan of the price and don’t have your heart set on the exact style, a quick look at Forever 21 and Styles For Less results in just as cute pink rompers, jumpsuits, and dresses, but remember if you’re looking in your closet for what you already have, chances are you have a very simple but pretty romper or dress already.
I paired it with black pumps and minimal accessories. I also curled my hair and did my “normal” makeup (which is this makeup or no makeup, I have little in-between). If you would like to see tutorials of anything, just let me know.
Now, if you want an outfit that’s going to be more suited to going out or just more fun in general, this next ensemble was my original plan. I chose not to wear it when my plans changed and became more of a family day.
I bought these pants earlier this summer from Forever 21 (when I was still employed). I just checked on the website and they still have them, although in limited stock. The pants are the main attraction. I didn’t want to distract from their purpose, so I paired them with a simple black crop top and the same black heels as before.
I admit, not everyone would have something like these sequined pants in their closet. However, you might have a sequined skirt or jacket. The goal of this look is to have something that makes you pop while feeling like a rock star.
Tell me which outfit you liked better/ would want to wear for your birthday!
See y’all soon!
